You can be a safety leader. Leadership is not measured by status in an organization, but influence on other people. Having solid impact on other people’s behavior requires training and skillfulness, and it also requires commitment. Commitment is a critical contributor to your ability to lead a workplace safety program, yet commitment itself is rarely addressed at a personal level. To make a personal commitment means “to act in the direction of what is most important even in the presence of obstacles.” This session will outline how to optimize your leadrship skills with The Mindful Action Plan (The MAP), which is an evidence-based approach supported by the same science that created behavior-based safety.
